The Vision: Breaking the "Pay-to-Play" Barrier

The evening was hosted in partnership with the Playse 14 Foundation, a nonprofit founded by World Cup Champion and former Inter Miami midfielder Blaise Matuidi. For Blaise, bringing the World Cup energy to Wynwood is about far more than just hosting a great party; it’s about fueling a movement.

Having grown up in modest circumstances before rising to elite global football, Blaise knows firsthand that talent is universal, but opportunity is not. Upon moving to Miami, he recognized a glaring gap in the American youth sports landscape: the rising, prohibitive costs of the "pay-to-play" model. Too many gifted young players are sidelined simply because of their ZIP code or financial background.

As the crowd chanted "Allez les Bleus!" during the second half, the energy in the room went from electric to historic. Walking through the doors to support his close friend and 2018 World Cup-winning teammate was none other than midfield maestro Paul Pogba.

Pogba, who keeps an apartment in downtown Miami, popped in as a surprise guest to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Blaise, the fans, and the foundation.
